Flight Instruction
We offer seaplane training in your aircraft or ours ranging from initial seaplane ratings to recurrent training to authentic bush flying experiences.
We specialize in Maule transition and insurance training, led by Tom Coleman with over 1,000 hours in tailwheel and float equipped Maules, ensuring you receive top-tier guidance.
We also provide flight reviews, tailwheel endorsements, high performance endorsements, and complex endorsements. Our expertise spans a variety of aircraft, so let us know what you need.
Join us to fly in some of the most beautiful and relaxed airspace on the East Coast, and elevate your flying skills to new heights.

Whether you are looking for a new rating to add to your certificate, dreaming of a job flying floats, or just building skills that can improve your flying all around, our initial floatplane rating program can get you there.  In our Maule, plan on 6-10 hrs, depending on experience to get your Single engine Sea rating. We have local DPEs specializing in seaplane rides too!
Have a float rating, but a little rusty, or never built much experience in short water, river operations, heavy loads, or other challenging conditions? We can customize a flight review or advanced operations course for you. Just give us a call!
If you are looking at buying or flying a Maule- we have a depth of operation experience on floats, wheels and skis that is not matched by many! We can provide Maule transition training with any landing gear configuration and are happy to discuss insurance company requirements with you. Come fly ours, or we can discuss coming to you to train in yours. Our lead instructor has over 1000 hours in tailwheel and float Maules, principally operating in the bush, but we are IFR equipped and current as well. We offer ferry flights and aircraft pickup as well.
We also offer flight reviews, tailwheel endorsements, high performance endorsements and complex endorsements- From our base we can head north into over 6 million acres of undeveloped, open access forest land with 100s of lakes to land on and many backcountry airstrips. Experience the freedom of remote aviation.
Alternatively, we can head East and shoot one of the few instrument approaches to the water on the east coast, with the IAF just 10 minutes away. We have many sporting camps we can fly into on floats, public use grass strips in town and in the woods with history that goes back to the biplane era, and paved airstrips in the middle of the woods!
We have instructor experience in Maule, Cessna 140 through 185 and 190, Cubs/PA12, Talyorcraft, Stinson, Citabria, Kodiak, etc. Let us know what you need and we will work with you to accomplish your goals.
